Charlene Abele

by Dana Kester-McCabe

Charlene Abele paints pastoral scenes and abstracts with her own expressive style. Using palette knives and brushes in an impasto approach, she sculpts her paint. Her work has evolved from representational subjects into complex abstracts.

Charlene has been drawing and painting since she was a child. She is mostly self taught though she takes workshops from time to time.

Charlene has been an active member of the Art League of Ocean City including board service and with a friend spearheading renovations to their building. The local arts community continues to be important in getting her work out to the buying public.

Charlene's advice to new artists is simple: be persistent.

Charlene's work can be seen locally at Water's Edge Gallery in Berlin, Bishop's Stock in Snow Hill or at the Rehoboth Art League in Rehoboth Beach and other northern Delaware galleries.
