Delmarva Birding Weekend

by Dana Kester-McCabe

The Delmarva Birding Weekend is a unique opportunity for wild life enthusiasts to visit our region which is so rich in both local and migratory bird species.

imageOver forty guided trips are offered on hikes, by boat, kayak, and canoe, at locations across the peninsula: in the woodlands of Prime Hook; the Pocomoke River Forrest, Nassawango Creek, on the Chesapeake Bay and along Atlantic ocean beaches.

Knowledgeable guides help site and identify Woodland warblers, shore birds, and raptors. Last year 174 different species were spotted.

Sunrise and sunset trips are delightful particularly when kayaking on such beautiful waterways as Ayers Creek.

Special rates at local B&B's and social gatherings at area restaurants make the trip very enjoyable for tourists and locals alike.
