August 1 - Capricornid Meteors - Look due south of overhead at about midnight.
August 6 - Southern Aquarid Meteors look in southern skies about 11 and again on August 21st-23rd.
August 9-20 - Perseids Meteor Shower will have a very favorable year for viewing particularly from the 12th-14th. Start looking at about 10PM with the best chance looking west of overhead around midnight.
August 31 - Andromedid Meteors - though prospects for viewing are only fair look directly overhead at about midnight.
